Day 6-A proper and full understanding of God is the starting point of our Journey. A proper understanding of ourselves is also critical. This week we will focus on who we were created to be.
Read Genesis 1:26-27 What do these verses tell you about who you are? What difference should this make in the way we live? Given all that you learned about God in week 1, coupled with the fact that we are made in his image what else does that say about you?
These verses tell me that God created humans in his own image. This applies to behavior as well as appearance. They tell us that there is a standard set for us by God, and we should try and aim for this standard. We should do this by thinking how God would want us to act in our daily lives. We can never be perfect like God, but we should at least try to live the way he wants us to.
ReplyDeleteoh jees. ok i tried this the first time but i wasnt signed in so i couldnt post it. But anyway. God made us perfect in his image. who we are and what we look like is perfect. There is nothing wrong with who we are (except for that sinning junk). Since GOd made us perfect we should not feel pressured by society to change who we are. We are perfect and nothing can take our perfection away from us except ourselves. So we have to be confident in the Lord and in ourselves and who we are and where we came from.
ReplyDeletethe verse told me that God made just the way he wanted me to be made and this is telling me that im perfect in his eyes and that society can kiss my butt b/c society views and looks are imperfect compare to what God says about us.we are perfect in him and we have to love that way so that others can see God
ReplyDeleteHehe nicely put tineka. Yeah society can kiss our butts cuz God made us how he wants us. whats the point of trying to change perfection. Society is mostly backwards anyway. I mean society is the one that tells us to be selfish and horde money to ourselves, it encourages selfishness and it convinces people that money equals happiness. So yeah society doesnt know what the heck its talkin bout if they wanna change who i am. WE are perfect and should not strive to fit irrational societal models ie. runway model skinnines (which is unhealthy) or perfect house car and family ect. God has equipped us with what we need in life to be happy, we dont need to change who we are to fit in with society
