Week 1 Who is God? Day 3

Day 3- Read 1 Peter 1:15-16 According to this passage who or what is God? What does it mean to be holy? Holiness is a concept that we are not used to and therefore tend to under-appreciate in God. Spend time asking God for a better understanding of his holiness so you might appreciate this part of His character.

  1. This verse says to me that God is perfect, set apart, unblemished, but it also says that we are called to be this way after we enter into relationship with Jesus not of our own strength of course but by His strength coming through us. I know that I havnt been doing this lately for sure and its not a good thing. I will definitely be asking God to realize this daily about His character, what exactly it means for my life, and how I can better live this out everyday.

  2. this verse says to me that God is perfect in every way. so meaning we need to be more like him and not to slip into earthly things which means again be more like him and its hard but he has our back to help us out.

  3. to me this is saying that God is 100% pure
he has no tiny flaws nothing
he is legit epicly awesome (tk u may hit me for sayen that)

but like he is soo perfect and he wants us to be just like him
    he is holy
holy is defined as dereiving from a divine power
so God is divine and he longs for us to be divine too so that we may spend 4eva with him

  4. holiness... for one to be holy, they must be complete, whole. a value of holiness would then be integrity, and who we are when no one else (but God) is watching. God is wholly holy and purely holy all the time. God is pure and whole. And for us to be whole and pure and holy, we must be a part of God. God must be at our center for us to be wholly holy. (i forgot how wholly is spelled as in to be whole, so excuse me if wholly is wrong.) so we must all pray for the spirit of God to take his rightful place in our hearts and to complete us and make us whole so that we can be holy with Him.

  5. For me, it is really hard to grasp someone being perfectly holy. I think being in that person's presence would be a transforming experience. I guess kinda like when Moses came down off the mountain and his face was "radiant." I think the continued steps for me in becoming holier is to be more in tune with the "holy one." To be transformed by His holiness. As I write this, I am realizing that for me it means I need to spend more time with God, specifically worshipping his hioliness.
